Control Board Pitch & Volume Setups
For Phoenix or Dragonfly

Volume Control Parts:

DPDT switch, the two center pins are connected to ground. The yellow wire connects to o-Sw which connects through R3-1k which is brighter than the 4K7 shown. The other side of the mute switch connects to the Mute terminal for a wire from terminal T4 on the Phoenix board near LED-1.

Power to the board is connected to the top right green terminal to the Phoenix J3 terminal next to the J2 TRS jack.

Pot-4 on the control board replaces Pot-4 on the Phoenix board. The center pin is connected to ground. The yellow wire connect to the green terminal so a wire can run from the Phoenix  terminal in place of Pot-4 on the Phoenix board. Move the yellow wire to the other side of the Pot if you want Null adjustment to go in the opposite direction.

Mount the IC socket but the LM386 is not used on the volume control board.

The output from pin 3 of the 555 on the Phoenix can be take by drilling a small hole below R22-2k2 in the copper trace, then solder in a wire. This connects to the green terminal on the control board by R4.   R4-10k is new and when Pin3 is connected it bleeds off the voltage across the C9-470uf on the Phoenix board. This avoids an occasional latch up of the 555 that can occur.

The blue Pot is used in place of the mod on the Phoenix board R32-2.2k. Adjust the Pot for ideal shading. Connect LED-1 + side on Phoenix board to Vol.S- green terminal.

This setup mounts through holes on the backside of the panel for a clean look.

From the top down is the red Mute on indicator with the Mute switch below it. I am using a sideways switch motion to clear the knob but up/down is fine for your application.

The black knob adjusts the Null Point on the Volume Control board.

The yellow LED-2 On indicates the Phoenix is generating a volume quieting signal or tone.

The green LED-1 indicates maximum volume when On with yellow off.
